The Radio

I've stated before how a lot of the new artists I hear, I actually first hear on the radio.  I think that sometimes, in today's social environment, the radio can be overlooked as a relevant form of information. To pay homage to the hard working DJs, here is a list of links to my favorite local radio stations in the Boston area!


92.5 The River

92.9 Independent Radio

88.9 WERS Emerson College Radio

91.5 WUML UMass Lowell Radio


There was once 92.1/101.7 WFNX on this list, but sadly the radio station was purchased by Clear Channel.  Though I have nothing against Clear Channel, they've given Boston such great radio stations as Kiss 108 and Jammin' 94.5, there really wasn't anything comparable to the Phoenix.  The River and 92.9 have really picked up the independent/alternative slack, but there is still just that little bit missing.  

Oh well, here's to the radio and here's to streaming music on sites like Pandora and Grooveshark!! Cheers!
